Top 5 July Beauty Picks

So it’s no secret I’m a beauty product junkie. While shopping is far from my top hobby, if someone says “Sephora” I am right there. I know everyone who works at my local hair supply store, although really I think most of the local cosmetologists do because there’s not many stores around us. That’s what I tell myself at least. So for the middle of an Ohio summer, these are my go-to’s.

UD One and Done 2

Urban Decay One and Done

I love this stuff. It’s a newer product but Urban Decay has nailed it. I don’t like wearing heavy foundation in the summer, or really any time of the year. But I like something that gives at least a little coverage and I really like BB creams that I can build, which are hard to find. This one is buildable, super lightweight (feels like you have nothing on-Naked skin), provides good coverage, and lasts around 12 hours. A little bit goes a long way too so don’t the price doesn’t bother me. Bonus-It’s a vegan product that works great for my sensitive skin!

UD Setting Spray

Urban Decay All-Nighter Setting Spray

This is another year round must have for me. I am hooked and while I’ve tried other setting sprays, I will always come back to this one. It’s like hairspray for your face. But not sticky, it just makes sure your makeup doesn’t go anywhere. No eyeshadow creasing, foundation or BB cream staying put, and blush lasting longer no matter what the humidity. (or lack thereof, this IS Ohio. It might snow tomorrow. We really don’t know.) I am all over this and will recommend it to anyone. Just like the above product it’s vegan and doesn’t irritate sensitive skin. It’s a must have for my makeup kit as well. Everyone loves it.

Too Faced Mascara Melt Off

So while usually there would be a waterproof mascara on these kinds of posts, I’m going with my favorite mascara remover. I feel like most of us have found our favorite waterproof mascara at this point or we don’t wear any at all at all. Though in case you were wondering this is the one I use. Good stand alone or as a topcoat. Okay back to Too Faced. I love the brand, it’s cruelty free and they try to stay more natural in their ingredients. This product has to be one of their best. Seriously. I coat my lashes base to end with their nifty bristle free comb and brush my teeth, pull my hair up, whatever to kill a minute or two. Then I wipe it off and wash my face and voila absolutely no mascara left.

Aquage Sea Salt Spray

Aquage Sea Salt Spray

Another product I’ve been using for a few years that I just love. This is my favorite low to no frizz sea salt spray and there is no crunch to the hair, no matter how much is sprayed in. Spray liberally, scrunch, and diffuse or air dry. Quick tip: Air dry=lower frizz. Also in the sun hair is going to air dry much quicker. Also when going the diffusing route don’t diffuse the hair until it is completely dry, mainly focus on getting the roots dry and let the rest air dry to lower frizz. Even if you only have a little wave in your hair this will amp up and really help define your texture. Perfect for easy summer beach hair. Where to find: Your local salon that carries Aquage.

Banana Boat After Sun Lotion

Banana Boat After Sun Lotion

Okay so this is a recent find. Recently we were on vacation on Dauphin Island, AL  I realized I had totally forgotten to bring lotion. A quick stop to the one little convenience store and I grabbed the first one I saw. I don’t know about you but year round my skin is dry and in the summer I really prefer lotions that are nice and moisturizing but don’t make me feel greasy with the heat. This one accomplishes that. It’s soothing (thanks aloe!) and smells nice (thanks cocoa and shea butters!). This has become a must have for my summers now.

So there you have it, my top 5 summer beauty must haves!!! Enjoy July, hopefully it doesn’t go by quite as quickly as June did.

      1. I’m currently testing De-Slick, it’s really good for oil control but I’ve heard All Nighter is more of an all-rounder so I’d like to compare the two 🙂 Jay
