If you know me, you know I’m a sucker for beauty products and even though a few months ago, I stopped wearing a ton of makeup, I still love to pamper myself a little.
When I went vegan, I was afraid it would be difficult to find decent products that would fit my lifestyle. But I was very pleased when I found out many of the products I already own were vegan or cruelty free. Today, I’ll share some of those with you.
**disclaimer: I’m not sure all of these products are 100% vegan [containing 0 animal by-product], but the are all cruelty-free [not tested on animals]**
1) Coconut Oil.
Do I even need to explain?? It seems everyone these days loves the benefits of coconut oil. It’s great for your hair, skin, teeth and you can cook with it. If you’ve never looked up the many, many uses for coconut oil, you should read this.
2) Sun Bum Shampoo & Leave In Conditioner.
This may be weird, but I love the smell of sun screen. And these products all smell like a sun screen. I bought this brand for the first time this summer and I am in love with it. I have a very dry scalp and this is honestly one of the first products thats ever truly moisturized my scalp while leaving my hair smelling amazing. (They also have a great sun screen)!
3) Nyx Eyebrow Pencil, Highlighter and Mascara.
I found these at target for $6 each and I fell in love with them! You use the smaller end of the pencil to shape your brow, the lighter end of the pencil to highlight and then the mascara is used to tint and hold the brow. I’d highly, highly recommend these products!
Also, I’m not sure if these products are meant to be waterproof, but I wore them in the pool and they stayed on my brows like a champ! (I get the darkest color, espresso).
4) Lush BIG Shampoo.
I’m a girl who likes choices for my hair when I’m showering (am I the only one???), so I switch between this and the Sun Bum products. It has sea salt in it, so it is extremely exfoliating. It smells incredible and I mean, who doesn’t love Lush products?
5) Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara.
Last, but most certainly not least, this stupendous mascara. I have very short, very straight lashes and this is the ONLY mascara I’ve ever found that actually gives them length and curl. If you’ve never tried this product, do yourself a favor and give it a go.
So there you have it, my top 5 vegan/cruelty free beauty picks.
