My Favorite Vegan Foods pt. 2

I’m not gonna lie, when I was typing the title of this blog post, I read it in my head with the enthusiasm of Barney when he found a new Robin Sparkles tape on How I Met Your Mother….IT’S MY FAVORITE VEGAN FOODS TWO, Y’ALL!

Yep. It’s back! Some of my favorite vegan foods! I’ve been vegan for over 3 months now. I’m still feeling great, I have very few cravings (for non-vegan foods) and I have way more energy. I did another post on this and it was a very popular blog, so I thought I’d bring it back!

The food items featured in this post are things that I keep stocked in my house on a regular basis and they’re my go-to quick snack/meal items!


  1. Bragg Liquid Aminos soy sauce alternative.
    It tastes just like soy sauce, but has very low (if any) sodium. A friend of mine, who is not vegan, introduced me to liquid aminos and she uses it in place of soy sauce as well! I used it to make a vegan pad thai for my community group this past week. You can pick it up at any grocery store!  I use it with the next 2 items!


2. Trader Joe’s Rice Medley.
This is AMAZING for a quick meal. It’s frozen rice that cooks in the bag you freeze it in and it comes with THREE bags for around $2 at Trader Joe’s. Does it get any better than that?? I love rice already, but I really love this mixed rice medley. I eat this rice with the liquid aminos and….



3. Canned Vegetables.
(baby corn and water chestnuts are my favorites to mix with the rice and liquid aminos). I love veggies, but fresh veggies can go badly pretty quickly if you don’t use them right away. I try to buy canned veggies that are stored in water and seasalt rather than in oils because it’s healthier, but canned veggies are a MUST HAVE in my pantry. (Frozen veggies, too!)


4. Pita Bread.
Pita bread. Need I say more? It’s cheap, it’s filling, it’s delicious, it’s vegan.


5. Pumpkin Seeds.
Pumpkin seeds are a great source of protein on a plant based diet. As well as other nuts and seeds and legumes (don’t worry, I get all my protein everyday) . But pumpkin seeds and extra tasty and remind me of the best time of the year..FALL!! Who else is ready?? I know Haley isn’t…sorry Haley 🙂


6. Bigelow Peppermint Bark tea.
Ok, this isn’t technically a food, but it’s so good and as the mornings get cooler, I love brewing a cup when I wake up. Haley actually introduced me to this tea last year when we first became friends and I’ve been keeping it on my shelves ever since!

So there you have it! Some more of my favorite vegan foods. There will be many more posts just like these to come. I thought of more food I could share as I was typing this up, so I foresee another post in the not-so-distant future!
