I feel like it’s been far too long since I’ve sat down and written, mainly because it has been. I usually center on beauty posts and I just have to say I am not kidding that I went to two Sephoras in 24hrs (it’s getting close to wedding season and I am missing some onsite essentials) and both were completely out of ever item I needed. I have witnesses to this if you don’t believe me. It’s normal for a store to be out of a couple things but really. My entire list. (enter eye roll)
Okay I’m being a tad melodramatic but it’s still annoying.
So I decided to take this time to share with you a few of my essential go to grabs for daily wear. You know instead of my fresh beauty finds. (I’m done being bitter with Sephora I promise.) Some of these may be repeats from former posts, but that means they’re just that good.
Eyes first! I have used several shadow primers and I give this one props. I wouldn’t say it’s quite 24 hour wear but I do get pretty great daily wear out of it. It is very thick but moveable, less is more is the one lesson I learned! Let it sit for close to a minute until it’s tacky and you’re good to go. I apply both on my eyelid and just under my eye.
To be completely honest I love both of these palettes equally. These are my go to palettes for daily wear and an evening out, but the ranges on these are great for all skin tones and eye colors. Also they last quite awhile so don’t let the price fool you. I feel like these are raved about enough that I don’t need to say much because you already know.
Love this mascara. I honestly have a mascara problem and I think I have tried nearly everything on the market from drugstore to high end. The formula is more wet so it takes a little longer to dry, but I like that because I don’t get as much clumping going on. A quick swipe and I have great length, volume and separation. They make a waterproof version of this that I have not tried yet but will update you as soon as I do!
One of the better BB creams I’ve used in a long time. I only need about half a pump to even out my skin. It has coverage that can be built upon with blending color which is awesome. It feels smooth and comfortable and gives just enough coverage for the days that you just don’t want to do foundation or if you don’t wear foundation yet want a little coverage and other great benefits that come from a BB cream.
To be completely honest I don’t like this as a lipstick at all but I love this as a blush. It lasts all day, the color looks natural, and is such a smooth and creamy formula. Peony is my favorite shade. I use these at weddings also and have gotten great feedback so I’m not the only one who is a fan!
So I of course have a few other items that I grab before heading out the door. I nearly always set with powder and spray (thanks combination skin), I love a good highlighter and chapstick is a must for me. I’m all about a quick and easy makeup application that keeps me looking fresh all day. Have you tried any of these items on this list? Do you want me to break down my daily application into a step by step?
