Alrighty you guys, it’s been awhile. Quick little note about me:
I am a perfectionist and if I fail at something I personally did (i.e. told myself I would blog every Tuesday) I feel enormous guilt and beat myself up for it. It’s safe to say I am not the greatest at giving myself grace over life.
Winter sucks the life out of me. I feel like I have nothing uplifting or fun to say. Ever.
SO combine those two…and here I am blogging after a couple months of a hiatus. Whoops. So to get back into the swing of things, here’s a couple recent beauty picks and an incredible book all of you ladies out there NEED to read.
I know I talked up the Anastasia Ultimate Glow Kit (which is apparently no longer at Sephora) in my October beauty post and it also appeared over here on my aunt’s blog, and believe me I am still all for Anastasia Ultimate Glow. BUT. If you want a highlighter that has no sparkle, amazingly beautiful glow, is natural, and…maybe my favorite part…smells like cookie dough, this is the one for you. Now really I love highlighters and I pretty much love them all but I was so impressed with Tarte I couldn’t believe I hadn’t tried them sooner. Amazing. (I have stunner and exposed and am soo ready to get my hands on sparkler-it’s rose gold-)
I got my hands on this gorgeous palette yesterday. I know, I know, what took me so long? I have no idea. So silky and so rich in tone this just may become one of my favorite Naked palettes. I highly recommend it if you love matte shadows. Thinking of posting eye looks sometime with this one, any interest?
Okay yes I’m a little late to the ColourPop game. But thanks to my sister who got me a few for my birthday, I now may possibly have a minor collection. Listen these lipsticks, all of them, are some of the better ones I’ve used. I have used a LOT of lipsticks. I love lipstick. The mattes aren’t too drying (prep your lips of course!) and the longevity and color payout is unreal. I absolutely love the color Trap. It’s a great nude with a little kick. I adore the Satins, Metallics, and the Lippie Stix. Again the longevity and color intensity are amazing. Soon I’ll try the Blotted line…soon.
So about that book…
I was between this and Uninvited, which is most certainly still on my list, but I just kept going back to this one. Quite possibly because of the cover. But I am so glad I did. I cannot recommend this book enough to any woman who has ever felt fear, doubt, or guilt even inch into her life. Who has forgotten about grace or felt unworthy, or who just feels tired. It is written in a way to be read by many and brings both laughs and “oh” moments. Seriously, grab this. Read it. Open your heart to the words you see. Then let me know what you think of it because I love having someone I can talk books with.
Until next time…
